Nacho Tusquets

Nacho Tusquets (Barcelona, 1983) decided to be an artist at the age of 18. After a season at the Berguedà, he learned the art of illustration and poster design from his first art teacher, Salvador Vinyes, in an Intermediate Design Degree in which all he did was "draw and draw." He wanted to be a poster artist, but in 2002 computer design was the industry focus, and he never won any contests entered, because his submissions were painted by hand.

When he came back to Barcelona, the return to the city made a great impression on him. In the summer of 2003, he began the series 'curcuitos': lines that reached remote places, cities of techno music and 'acid rain' on paper and canvas.

From 2006 to 2009, he studied a Higher Degree in Painting at La Llotja. Later, with the excuse of doing an internship, he spent three years as a gallery assistant specializing in video art at Espai Ubú.

In 2011, his work was exhibited for the first time at the Taulí Hospital in Sabadell. And almost at the same time, in Freedonia, he was developing the format that he would later repeat in other exhibition spaces and clubs: a combination of painting, poetry and noise with Oroil Muñoz, a friend  who had recently returned to Barcelona from New York. In 2012, he had his first exhibition at the Puntoaparte Sarrià gallery, where he showed his 2003 series for the first time, under the title: 'Ordered Rain'.

He was exhibited again at Puntoaparte with the sample: 'soledad y solidaridad', and in 2016 at the Uxval Gochez gallery with 'Far from home'- pictures, those of this last expo, marked by a certain tragic accent. The same year, he was also a finalist in the Fundació Vila Casas painting contest and donated his submitted work: 'Homage to Yago Robert' to the Foundation.

Since then, he has exhibited in Tenerife at the Agencia de Tránsitos Culturales with the exhibition 'Invisibles', at the State Skate Shop, painting skates and an individual Waalloonarama at 'My Cup of tea', language school.

Meanwhile, he continues painting and imagining new territories for his work in his studio, in Vilafranca del Penedés, Barcelona.
